Answers to your most asked questions

How Does it All Work?

It's so easy to join. Pleasure Cruising Club Inc is an incorporated club in Victoria. You apply for a membership like joining an AFL or a Gold Club or a Rotary Club, and you then have access to our luxury Sports Cruiser boats. You don't acquire shares in our cruisers and your not tied into a long term contract. The amount you pay in membership will determine how many boating days you have access. You book the luxury boat via the internet reservation system which is very easy to use. Memberships can be paid monthly by Visa, MasterCard or Direct Debit.

What Training is Provided?

We will only allow our time-share members to use our vessels on the following conditions:

  • We are presented with a valid current boat license
  • Our time share members have a hands on course on how to use our vessels. Skills covered include parking skills, emergency radio work skills, navigation GPS skills. Ropes skills. Refuel the boat skills. Members must pass the test before taking a vessel out by themselves.
  • time-share Members must also do a night training course.

Our instructors have Coxswain certificates and have many years of boating experience.

Do you provide safety gear?

We provide Personal Floatation Devices (PFD's) for adults and children at all times. We also provide ship to shore radio's, flares and Satellite location devices. All vessels have GPS which shows the boat's position and the water depth.

We provide training on how to use all the safety gear in case of an emergency.

What Other Expenses Do I have to Pay for ?

You don't pay for Insurance, Maintenance, Berth Fees, Cleaning, Boat Depreciation or the boat. This is included in your yearly membership. You just pay for the initial training and for the fuel used. We take care of everything else.

How do I know there will be availability when I join?

We have a quota in place to ensure that the membership count is not exceeded. If the quota is reached we then then we have a waiting list to ensure that all our members can use the boat. Also there is a sixty day reservation limit to make sure that members who join later are not disadvantaged by members who have joined earlier. Also our point allocation system makes sure there is sufficient use through peak periods. See our members rate sheet for more details.

Do I need to reserve the boat in advance when I join the club?

No. Unlike a boat share or boat syndication arrangements you have total flexibility to make a reservation when you want the boat.

What if the weather is bad on the day of my reservation?

We have a bad weather cancellation clause. No problem to reschedule for a later date.

Can I buy a boat and place it in your club?

Yes you can. Call us about our investor program.

Can we stay overnight on the boats or take the boat away for the weekend?

Yes you can. Many members enjoy staying at New Quay marina overnight because of the great location of having many restaurants available. Other members take the boat and stay at other locations. Queenscliff is very popular because of the location. Its a brand new marina and only a 15 minute walk to the centre of town.

What is different about a corporate membership versus a private membership?

A corporate membership means that the boat can be used by all of the employees of the company who have undertaken our skipper school.

Can I syndicate my membership and join with a friend?
