HOLIDAY IDEA
On Christmas Day we planned a trip to take the Pleasure Cruiser 38 for five
days to Martha Cove. The forecast was for storms late in the afternoon so
we decided to head off early which we did. It was a great cruise from
Docklands to Martha Cove Marina which was 27 Nautical miles and took just
two hours. We took two families accords on the trip and winds were less
than 15 knots with a swell less than 1 metre. On arrival we dropped Anchor
off safety and had the BBQ going. We could see the storm pattern move
across Melbourne but it missed Mornington completely. We also brought the
car down so we had the boat which allowed us to mix boating actives with
some activities with the kids. Arbour's Seat was close buy so we vistaed
the Maze and did some bush walks. From Martha Cove we were able to go to
Queenscliff and spend the day which was about 16 Nautical miles and took
about an hour. At Queenscliff you can walk to the shops within 15 minutes
which was nice and handy. The beach was close buy as well.
On the return trip we went by Frankston and anchored off the beach and the
waters there crystal clean and vested a friend who had a beach house. One
of the great joys of boating is just anchoring of a beach having a good
yarn, have the BBQ with your friends watching your kids swim off the boat.
