Visitors to this year’s Melbourne Boat Show will have a chance to become a ‘walk on walk off boatie’ by going in the draw for a Pleasure Cruising Club Bronze Annual Membership, valued at $8,000, which provides them with one of the most hassle-free experiences of enjoying boating.

Gary Freeman, Manager of the Pleasure Cruising Club said, “The structure of the Pleasure Cruising Club provides members with access to a range of boats for a monthly fee. This makes boating at all levels affordable with none of the normal maintenance and storage costs for boat owners as the inclusive fee removes the upfront costs of buying a boat, storage, insurance, maintenance and cleaning.”

“Members of the Pleasure Cruising Club become ‘walk on walk off sailors’ at the Docklands Marina which can be an important issue for families who are time poor and want to get on the water as soon as possible.

“The convenience of being able to walk on board a clean, fuelled and well-maintained boat in a few minutes is one of the highlights from the Pleasure Cruising Club Member survey.”

Mr Freeman said the ongoing involvement of the Pleasure Cruising Club with the Think Pink Foundation charity had been a rewarding experience for everyone and clearly demonstrated the health, social and mental health benefits of boating and the importance of the boating industry to the general community.

Maria and John, the winners of the recent Mirvac Think Pink Breast Cancer Progressive Marathon raising over $2000. enjoyed a day on Port Phillip Bay with their friends as a ‘walk on walk off’ boating experience sponsored by the Pleasure Cruising Club at Docklands.

The health benefits of boating are clearly on deck with a unique sponsorship arrangement between the Boating Industry Association of Victoria member, the Pleasure Cruising Club based at Docklands, and the Think Pink Foundation.
